Island Packet 445 2006 ‘Misty’
Set up and used for bluewater cruising by the current owner having completed a circumnavigation in 2023/2024. She can be sailed by a couple or by a larger crew with spacious accommodation.
‘Misty’ is cutter rigged with in-mast furling, genoa and staysail furling, and all lines lead back to the cockpit for ease of control. The primary winches are electric, one of the secondaries is electric as is one of the winches on the companionway.
The centre-cockpit and tent (new in 2024) offer a degree of protection seldom seen in cruisers, and it can also be used as a simple bimini. The deck offers good storage, having a spacious anchor locker, a very spacious lazarette, davits for the tender, and a cage for sail storage forward of the mast. A powerful Yanmar engine and a bow thruster ensure ease of manoeuvrability.
Below decks one enters an extremely light and bright saloon, with standing room for the tallest sailor. The light teak joinery and cream alcantara upholstery gives a luxurious feel. The layout features 2 impressive cabins and 2 head/shower compartments, again very spacious. The saloon has 2 full length settee berths, one of which can be converted into a double berth. The saloon is finished by a leather chart-table seat and a small table, which when removed allows a large double table to be lowered down, revealing a beautiful drinks cabinet.
Misty is very well equipped, having 2 owners who have looked after her very well and who have both sold/selling primarily for health reasons. She has cruised the Baltic and circumnavigated the World and is ready for her next great adventure.
All standing rigging was replaced in 2026 together with some of the running rigging and the headsail furler (Harken Ocean). In 2026 the hull was repainted in blue polymer (as originally done) and re-coppercoated so should be good for another circumnavigation at least.
The sale includes a Highfield tender, Torqeedo Travel outboard and a lot of spares (alternator, watermaker filters, engine spares, anodes, spare pumps, pump spares etc). Also included is an electric high volume water pump which was required to enable Misty to join the World Arc.
